~ 365 Cards: Day 365 ~

OMG! Can you believe that 365 Cards is 1 year old! I'm so glad to discover them in March last year and took part in the challenges, almost daily! In fact, I no longer run out of cards these days and even sell them to friends, thanx to the challenges that I took part. Then later in the year, some time in December, I made it to the Design Team. I luv the challenges on here as it's varied, you have sketches, card recipes, ad-based inspiration, various themes etc.

Anyway, every Sunday is a sketch challenge and here's today's sketch:

Here's my card:

Stamped images from Unity's Feb 10 KOTM set.

Look out for more challenges in the 2nd year of 365 Cards. Remember you don't have to play everyday but join in when you can! TTFN!

~ Christmas Cards All Year Round: February challenge ~

This month's challenge is to create a Christmas card with at least three hearts on it. All the cards created were in conjunction with other challenges as well. Here are my 5 cards:

3 hearts on the snowman

Using 3 hearts to create a Xmas tree.

3 hearts behind the sentiment.

Behind the sentiment is a heart background. Here's a closer look:

I've got at least 3 hearts there!

Nearly the end of the month and I've done 7 cards so far, another one more to go. Doing well with my quota! TTFN!

~ Time To Lose ... ~

WEIGHT! OMG, made a mistake of weighing myself and shock horror, tip the scales at 49.5 kg, the heaviest I've ever been (bar pregnancy weight of course). Don't ask me what's that in stones... can't get my head around the 'stone' measurement! No wonder my jeans feel tight! Then again, I'm not surprised as I've been heavily snacking, especially at midnite when I'm crafting. I do try to snack healthily but my weakest link is chocolates. I can't just eat one, nah, at least a dozen at one go!

I will have to start cutting out the snack and chocolate (although not entirely). I don't believe in dieting as it kinda make you wanna eat more, the moment you go on a diet (for me that is!) Let's see how fast I can lose 2 kg. Weight gain is so easy, weight loss, a tad difficult and lots of self restraint!

Other news, I'm running out of space in my Mac, so bad that it's affecting the startups! Urghh... knew 160 GB is too little. Had to do a little cleaning up. Will have to upgrade to a larger hard disk. TTFN!

~ Prima ~

Check out the secret that Prima has here! TTFN!

~ On Display ~

This week has been rather hectic for me, especially after a lazy half term. Lots of appointment, mainly at the boys' schools (it's a good thing I can input them in my mobile's calendar as my brain's a sieve these days and I forget easily).  Hence, I needed an outlet to release stress and managed a LO using the latest Scarlet Lime Feb kit.

Scarlet Lime's Feb kit consisted of GCD Studios and American Craft papers. So I played with the latest GCD Studios papers. Stamped images came from {ippity} Life's Little Moments (family) and Unity's scrapbooking kit (the ticket stub).

I luv this particular family portrait of us and you can bet it will be used again in another project! TTFN!

~ Star Of The Week ~

Last week, we received a letter from my eldest's school inviting us to witness his Star of the Week award during assembly and to keep it a secret. So today, we attended the ceremony. My boy was so surprised to see us as he didn't even know he was being awarded.

He received a certificate and a bookmark for being Star of the Week. I think it's a good motivational tool.   It's now proudly displayed in his room. TTFN!

~ 365 Cards: Day 360 ~

Wow, we are almost reaching the end of the year for 365 Cards! This week is Celebration week before we start another new year of cards! This week, all DT members are coming out with their own signature style of making cards. Pam has described mine as 'fresh, bold and vibrant'. Here's my card:

Patterned paper by Basic Grey Sugar Rush. Stamped images from Unity's Jan's store kit. The couple is coloured with Promarkers.

The inside of the card.

Created this card for hubs as it's our 10th anniversary this Thursday! Can't believe we stuck together this long! LOL! We will be celebrating it when we are on our summer holidays later this year.

If you enjoy making cards, 365 Cards is currently holding a DT call. Check the deets here. Call ends 26th Feb. TTFN!

~ Snow & Sledging ~

It started snowing yesterday in the early afternoon. By nitefall, the ground was nicely and thickly covered with snow! This morning, we decided to bring the boys sledging as they have not done any so far this year. So we headed to a park and the fun began!

The boys enjoying a whizz down the slope. The only problem we had was coming back up again. It can be quite tiring walking up the slope especially in thick snow! But it was super fun. Even hubs & moi had a go! We made the boys wear their bicycle helmets for safety.

A nice lady saw me snapping photos and offered to take one for us. She too had a DSLR and probably understood what it was like to be behind the camera all the time. So here's a family photo of us. Confession here... we didn't build the snowman, it was already there and the boys merely played with it.

After sledging, we headed down to Poole to visit our SIL and her family. BIL's birthday is on Sunday so we thought we go down to celebrate his birthday. Always nice to have a short break from home. TTFN!

~ Unity's Friends With Flair ~

Apologies for the late post. Been on the road for 4 hours due to traffic and just got in, well, to SIL's place. Anyway, here's my offering for this week.

Managed to squeeze in some time to do a LO this week. LO is based on a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.

LO created using Scarlet Lime Nov09 kit and using Unity's scrapbooking kit. Luv the journaling panels.

Also did a card based on a sketch that I drew for a challenge at 365 Cards.

Patterned paper by Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. Used Unity's Joy & Wonder set and the sentiment box is from {ippity} Just Wanted To Say.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend! TTFN!

~ Sketchy Thursdays: March DT Challenge ~

Found some time in this hectic half term break to squeeze in a LO. It's hard to do anything crafty when the boys are around.

The challenge is based on a sketch, theme and colour. The theme is the 80s and the colour is white, black and hot pink. Here's the sketch:

Here's my LO:

Made use of Scarlet Lime Nov09 kit. Saw these large roses on a paper and thought they made excellent substitute for the circles. Not sure if I've met the 80s theme but the photo is definitely taken in the 80s! Met the colours asked for... black, white and hot pink! The roses were originally red but I painted them with a shimmerz paint in hot pink & added a touch of black glitter around the outline! Oh and I rotated the sketch to suit my photo.

Thanks for dropping by! TTFN!

~ 365 Cards: Day 353 ~

At 365 Cards this week, the DT comes up with a card sketch every day. It's my turn today and here's my card sketch:

I have to say, I'm very sketch challenged! I cannot follow a sketch exactly and I've a tendency to alter a little. So despite drawing up this sketch, I came up with this card design based loosely on the sketch!

Patterned paper by Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. Stamp set is from Unity's Bright & Merry Winter Wishes.  Sentiment box is from {ippity} Just Wanted To Say.

Here's the inside of the card:

I'm working on my Xmas cards quota at the moment. I've done 3 so far and need another 5 to complete the quota!

If you enjoy making cards, 365 Cards is holding a DT call. Check the deets here. TTFN!

~ Happy Chinese New Year / Valentine's Day ~

Wishing all my Chinese friends

It's the Year of the Tiger!

Not often that both these special occasions fall on the same day but it did this year. Valentine's Day got pushed back as I was busy preparing for my son's birthday as well as the Chinese reunion dinner. Kinda wish I was in Singapore as CNY is a big event there and I'm missing terribly all the CNY goodies and snacks! Also the atmosphere is electrifying too. Being here is so different. You don't really get the feeling of CNY at all.

The day was spent sorting the house out after yesterday's big event! Discovered as well 3 missing pairs of craft scissors as my eldest used them yesterday and conveniently misplaced them.... 3 pairs! So annoyed with him. Gosh, they are my tools and I can't craft without them as I tend to cut out my stamped images a lot. I can understand not finding a pair but 3!!! Told him he's not having his DS this week until my 3 pairs of scissors appear!

Glad it's the half term break! Looking forward to a week of not having to wake up early! :) TTFN!

~ 365 Cards: Day 351 ~

Happy Valentine's Day!
It's Super Sketchy Sunday today and here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

Patterned paper from Crate Paper. Owl is a digi image from Hero Arts (purchased from 2peas... thanx Amy for the tip). Luv that particular owl image. Sentiment (birthday wishes) is from {ippity} Just Wanted to Say set. The circular birthday sentiment is from Elzybells.

Made this card for my youngest who celebrated his 7th birthday yesterday. It's an easel card and the inside actually sits on a white card base although it's not visible in the photo!

Hope you're having a great day! TTFN!

~ Happy Birthday Zac! ~

7 years ago, this little cutie was born. Fast forward today, we celebrated his 7th birthday. Where did the time go? I want him to still remain my babe.

He expressed his desire to go bowling so we did. I invited our relatives and family friends and we has a smashing time at the Ten Pin in Star City.

We booked 2 lanes, one for the kiddies (there were 7 of them) and for the adults. All of us certainly enjoyed a great day out.

As it was the eve of Chinese New Year, I held the traditional reunion dinner. So after bowling it was back to my place where hubs and I prepared the table for the dinner. We had steamboat (fondue a la chinoise!) Basically, a big pot of steaming soup and we chuck in the food to cook. We had prawns, squids, fishballs, tofu, roast chicken (for those who didn't like seafood) and beef. And not forgetting an iron-rich Chinese vegetable! We all had a great time. I nearly forgot to take photos and managed to get a couple towards the end of dinner.

After dinner, we cut the birthday cake. When Zac saw this cake, he wanted it... not surprising since he's a DS addict!

Party broke up at 11pm. The boys' cousins stayed over which excited them all and took them a while to get to sleep as they were constantly chatting and giggling away (yes, boys do giggle too).

It was a great day and it was also nice to see my SILs and their families. I'm thankful that we do get along well. TTFN!

~ Unity's Friends With Flair ~

So glad it's Friday, the last day of term before a good week break and rest! No more struggle to get the boys up in the morning! A busy weekend as it's my youngest 7th birthday as well as a Chinese New Year reunion dinner. Chinese New Year is this Sunday.

Anyway, managed to squeeze in some time to create and did a LO:

LO is based on a sketch at Creative Scrappers. Made use of the Jan/Feb'10 scrapbooking kit as well as Scarlet Lime Jan'10 kit. The 'calendar' image is from {ippity} Life's Little Moments set.

My next project is a card, a very simple one:

Made use of Jan'10 KOTM set.

The inside of the card using a sentiment from Aug'08 KOTM set.

Check out the other blogs on the Unity site for more inspiration. Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend! I know I will! :) TTFN!

~ Sketchy Thursdays: 2.4 Challenge ~

Managed to sneak in a bit of time to play with this sketch:

Here's my LO:

LO created using kit from Scarlet Lime Jan10 main kit. Some bits from Dec09 kit too. I used stamp set from BackPorch Memories Jan set. Flip the sketch laterally to suit my papers.

Some close-ups:

Had fun creating this LO. TTFN!

~ 365 Cards: Day 346 ~

Today's challenge is called Tuesday Trio. The 'trio' is to use scallop, ribbon and ink distressing on the card. Realising that I've yet to make a Chinese New Year card for my parents, I used today's challenge for it.

Here's my card:

I 'hug' this particular boy image from Hero Arts (comes in a set of four). When it first came out, I resisted getting it as it was wood-mounted and would cost a bomb in shipping! Then last year, found it for sale secondhand, and locally too and immediately snatched it up! No idea where the patterned papers are from as they are from my scrap pile. The alpha and sentiment 'happy' is from Banana Frog's Steelfish Outline and Retro Sentiments respectively. The alpha outline has been glittered with sticklers. Why a boy image.... to represent my boys! 'CNY' is short for Chinese New Year!

And speaking of Banana Frog, the company is holding a design team search. Check out the deets here. If you enjoy stamping, do apply! TTFN!

~ Journaling Types ~

While sorting out my stamps, it dawned on me that I could work my stamps more. I had some friends over recently and they enjoyed playing with them, especially the journaling ones. So I've decided to create some journaling ones for sale:

A bingo card featuring 'love' words. Perfect for scrapbooking or even cardmaking.

'Unforgettable Moments' journaling block.

This is one of my fav stamp image as you can cut them to size.

These can be found my store in Folksy. They have been stamped on kraft cardstock. All stamped images from Unity. I'll be adding more items soon. TTFN!

~ H{ippity} Hop! ~

I'm h{ippity} hopping today on {ippity} blog today! TTFN!

It's Super Sketchy Sunday today at 365 Cards and here's today's sketch:

Here's my card:

Patterned paper by Basic Grey Sugar Rush. Stamped images by {ippity} Life's Little Moments and sentiment by {ippity} Just Wanted to Say.

Made this card for my little boy who turns 7 this Saturday. The number '7' has been highlighted with a souffle pen (although it's not that evident on the photo). Thanks for dropping by! TTFN!

~ Unity's Friends With Flair ~

I luv Fridays, I always do, it heralds the start of the weekend that I'm so looking forward to! Anyway, it also heralds Unity's blog hop and I enjoy looking at all the inspiration using Unity stamps.

My offering today consist solely of Christmas cards! I made a resolution early this year to ensure I gave out homemade Xmas cards at the end of this year without resort to commercial ones and in order to reach the amount of cards needed, I would have to create at least 8 Xmas cards a month. And I reached January's quota so feeling quite chuffed about it! I even found a couple of  blogs dedicating to Xmas cards here and here so that will help me further.

Here are my cards:

I made use of 'Ho Ho Ho' set. Inside sentiment is from 'Joy & Wonder' set.

Stamped image is 'Christmas List' and inside sentiment came from

'Bauble' image and inside sentiment are from 'Bright & Merry Winter Wishes' while 'joy' image is from November store kit.

Stamped image on the cover is from 'Christmas Bough' while the inside comes from 'Bright & Merry Winter Wishes'.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend! TTFN!

~ Creative Scrappers: Feb challenge, sketch #89 ~

Had some time on my hands and found this sketch blog (thanx to Lisa). February's challenge is to create a LO using any sketches from #89 - #92. Here's sketch #89:

Here's my LO:

LO created using Scarlet Lime Jan main kit. A couple of stamped images came from Unity's scrapbooking kit (bunting from Jan/Feb10 SB kit & journaling panels from Sep09 SB kit). The calendar image is from {ippity} Life's Little Moments.
