~ Art Journal Caravan 2013: Itinerary #1 ~

Tangie has completely revamp the Art Journal Caravan and changed the theme. This year we are visiting countries and the first port of call is the United Kingdom. After pondering over it, I've chosen to do Famous People and went for Shakespeare. I did his books for Literature (both at 'O' and 'A' Levels). My favourite has to be Macbeth. I really must go and see the play. So here's my tribute to the Bard!

 Supplies:
Anna Aspnes: Artsy Kardz Storm, ArtPlay Palette Storm
Maya de Groot: Cheerio
Font: SmithyXY-Very Heavy

yOn my page, the quote came from 'As You Like It'. The image of the 3 women are the witches from Macbeth. The words on the top left hand corner is from Othello and the characters involved in the play. Finally, found a leaflet about Anthony and Cleopatra (that has got to be the most boring play I've done... maybe it was the teacher who taught it... he made it so boring that many students skipped his lecture, moi included). I have to say, I had so much fun doing this page. Shakespeare and related images are taken from the web. Found some interesting images which I incorporated into this page. If I have time, might do another page as there is so much to talk about the UK! TTFN!

~ On Display! ~

Li'l pooch has been keeping me very busy this week and as such, I didn't get much time to scrap. Moreover, last Friday was Black Friday which meant sales galore in the digiland so I was out stocking on kits. Bad month as I'm way over my budget but hey, when there's sales you just have to act on them!

Anyway, tonite, I decided to devote some time to play and I came up with this LO:

Anna Aspnes: ArtPlay Palette Care, Love Word Transfers1, Dogs Word Art No1, 12x12 Textured Overlays No6
Fonts: Pea Candice & Tangie AJF Mock Turtle

I created this page based on two challenges, AnnaLift and a Creative Techniques at Oscraps. AnnaLift was based on a scraplift. Creative Techniques was based on turning a photo into a sketch using Minimum Filter. Had fun trying out this new technique. Will definitely be experimenting with the contrast further for a different look.

NB: Hubs alerted me that I spelled li'l pooch's name wrongly so now he's Benji with an 'e' not 'a'. TTFN!

~ On Display ~

Found another tutorial to experiment, thanks to a generous Oscraps member, Adryane. After a few tries, managed to create this:

Luv the artistic treatment of the photo! Amazing how easy it is to achieve once you know how to do it!

~ On Display! ~

Tried out a new PS skill on a photo to make it look like a water-coloured image. Irene, a member of Oscraps gave this excellent tutorial. She's a gem for sharing this knowledge!

Using Anna Aspnes' ArtPlay Palette GlobeTrotter & Authentic.

Took this view of Marina Bay from this skyscrapper hotel. Singapore was then hosting the Youth Olympic Games and that coloured feature is actually the stadium. I love this technique, will be using it a lot more now!!!

Today marks the end of the half term. Thank goodness, we didn't book to go anywhere as the weather was dire! Typical British weather. My boys didn't fancy going out at all so we stayed in most days,  all of us in our PJs, just chilling out and loafing around. Bliss. I did do a spot of tidying and de-cluttering, namely my craft room. Chucked out a bagful of rubbish. At least, I can see more floor space now. TTFN!

~ December Daily 2011: Day 18 ~

Recently bought a Groupon code to publish my Dec Daily 2011 album. However, there is still 3 pages to complete. What's worst is that I have to convert all the 12x12 pages into 11x8.5" as I got a code for A4 size Photobook. Well, managed to convert all 28 pages, a little tedious but you got the hang of how to do it quickly after a while!

Started to work on the remaining 3 pages. Here's Day 18:

Used products by Anna Aspnes & Joanne Brisebois, available at Oscraps.

Now to complete Day 21 & 31.

On the fun side, my Treasured Keepsake LO was picked as a winner for The DigiDares. Got some coupons to new designers... looking forward to shopping! TTFN!

~ DigiDare #278 ~

Well, when I saw the Dare for this week, to journal about a clock, I immediately thought of my watch instead. I don't have any fanciful clock at home but I do have my pride and joy which has a bit of history to it. Here's my LO:

LO created using Anna Aspnes' products from Oscraps

I love my watch... it has kept good time all these years. The irony now is that I don't wear any watch on my hand at all except when I'm travelling... well, I need to keep track of the time differences in catching the next flight! TTFN!

~ Anna Aspnes: ArtPlay Palette Bicycle ~

Anna came up with a set of new kits together. The ArtPlay Palette Bicycle is absolutely superb! I've got lots of photos of the kids on bicycles and this kit will be simply perfect! As usual, I got the set of kits she has on offer:

This set is available for a week at a discounted price.

I also did this LO for a scraplift challenge at Design House Digital.

Gosh, it has been a long time since I scrapped so doing this LO was fun! TTFN!

~ Ju Kniepp: Always Spring ~

Saw this kit by Ju Kniepp and couldn't resist getting it... Always Spring.

I combined her stuff with Anna Aspnes' and here's my LO:

This LO was also done for the Digi Dare #275

The weather today was brilliant! Sunny and warm. Not surprising, the wee one wanted to cycle to school and we did. When we got home, the boys had a water balloon fight in the garden. Well, it's been so long since they went into the garden so they had their water fun. Let's hope we get more such weather please! TTFN!

~ 365 Cards: Day 83 ~

Today's challenge is entitled 'Opposite Attracts'. Basically two opposing elements on the card. Well, I went for colour... black and white. Here's my card:

Made use of Anna's new ArtPlay Classico kit as well as her new Multi Media FlutterBys No2.

Kept the card as generic as possible... never known when such card might come in handy! TTFN!

~ 365 Cards: Day 62 ~

Today's challenge is Tuesday's Trio. You need to have pink, animal and patterned paper on the card. Here's mine:

Using Anna Aspnes' ArtPlay Girl Crazy for the background & Multi Media Sealife No1 for the seal.

TTFN!

~ AnnaLift ~

Created this LO for this week's AnnaLift

Supplies:Anna Aspnes: - ArtPlay Palette Easter Chick- ArtPlay Palette Easter Bunny- Multi Media Chicks No1- Artsy Kardz Easter Chicks- Cool Glows No1- Warm Glows No1- Multi Colors Magic Flares No1 Overlays

I usually hold the egg hunt in our garden but as we were away, we held it in our caravan instead. Small area but nonetheless we managed to hide the eggs and the boys went on a hunting spree. They still somehow missed a couple of eggs and I won't be surprised if there are still eggs lying around in the caravan!!! Hope not! TTFN!

~ Oscraps: Copycat Challenge ~

It's the last day of the Easter break for me. I start work tomorrow while my wee one starts school. Spent the afternoon catching up on stuff that is needed for work tomorrow. I had a good rest but what a pity, it ended too soon!

Managed to squeeze time last nite to do the Copycat challenge at Oscraps. Basically a template is given. So here's what I've done with it:

Supplies by Anna Aspnes' ArtPlay Palette Blossom.

Basically climbed up this hill and hubs was looking for a place to fish but we couldn't find a safe spot. Instead we found an unused fort and had a mini picnic. Thank goodness, it was sunny that day. TTFN!

~ Pink Reptile Designs: Numb3rs ~

I love technique challenges. Most digi forums show you a particular technique with PS/PSE and get you to try it out on the LO. I do pick up a few tips from there. Over at Zig Zag Scrap (ZZS), there's a masking technique and I love to use masks on LO. Got myself a couple of mask kits from Pink Reptile Designs and here's my LO:

A recent photo of hubs' birthday, celebrated when we were on holiday.

I used a Numb3rs kit by Pink Reptile Designs. I adore this kit as there is so much in there about numbers and it was just so appropriate for the theme I was doing. I also included a Birthday Word Art from Anna Aspnes too. TTFN!

~ AnnaLift ~

It tried to snow today! Thank goodness, it only resulted in rain instead! Suddenly, the warm weather we had last week was shortlived! Thought it was too good to be true. Let's hope it's just a passing pressure thingy and not the entire Easter break!!!

It was laundry day too.... spent the entire afternoon ironing (not done for 2 weeks so you can imagine the pile). Thank god for afternoon programmes to keep me occupied.

Finally found some time to scrap at night and did an AnnaLift (which is basically using another person's LO as inspiration point and using Anna Aspnes' products!) Here's mine:

I lifted the warped frames from the original LO. Our first BBQ last Sunday when it was sunny and lovely. Didn't eat out though, not warm enough yet!

Let's hope the weather is better tomorrow... need to do some birthday shopping. TTFN!

~ AnnaLift ~

Here's a LO I created for AnnaLift (at Oscraps):

All supplies by Anna Aspnes

I lifted the piece of scrap paper and used it on the LO. Didn't know what to scrap then I saw my iPhone and this LO was born! TTFN!

~ AnnaLift ~

Time to do another AnnaLift at Oscraps. This time, it was more about the white space. I'm not so good at it as I luv to fill up my white space however, I think this LO should meet the criteria:

I played with Anna's new kit ArtPlay Palette Metro Graffiti (well, not new but a re-make of an old kit). Luv the colours in that kit. My topic focus on my old car. I still miss that car. It has a fabbo climate control! My new car takes ages to heat up!!!

I did manage the white space without cluttering it up! TTFN!

~ AnnaLift ~

Over at Oscraps, there a challenge every week to lift a LO using supplies from Anna Aspnes. Well, my lift is the sketch effect applied to the photo:

Celebrating my wee one's 9th birthday!

I learnt this from a tutorial on the net. It's amazing how much info is out there for Photoshop users! TTFN!
