I'm now no longer a creative team member at Oscraps. Instead, I found a new place at Scrap Art Studio (SAS). All I can say thanks to Val that I'm in my new place! SAS is a mixed of artsy and mixed media which suits my scrapping style perfectly.
I couldn't wait to get started and created this art journal:
Aria: Strut Your Stuff
Cilenia Curtis: Inklings, Flower Child
Anna Aspnes: ArtPlay Girl Craze, 12x12 Sand Scratched Overlays
Tangie: Flora Finery
Julianna Kniepp Designs: Butterfly Fly Away
I used kits by Cilenia Curtis and Aria and others too. Can't wait to explore further! TTFN!
Li'l pooch has been keeping me very busy this week and as such, I didn't get much time to scrap. Moreover, last Friday was Black Friday which meant sales galore in the digiland so I was out stocking on kits. Bad month as I'm way over my budget but hey, when there's sales you just have to act on them!
Anyway, tonite, I decided to devote some time to play and I came up with this LO:
Anna Aspnes: ArtPlay Palette Care, Love Word Transfers1, Dogs Word Art No1, 12x12 Textured Overlays No6
Fonts: Pea Candice & Tangie AJF Mock Turtle
I created this page based on two challenges, AnnaLift and a Creative Techniques at Oscraps. AnnaLift was based on a scraplift. Creative Techniques was based on turning a photo into a sketch using Minimum Filter. Had fun trying out this new technique. Will definitely be experimenting with the contrast further for a different look.
NB: Hubs alerted me that I spelled li'l pooch's name wrongly so now he's Benji with an 'e' not 'a'. TTFN!
Trying to catch up on my AJC and for Itinerary #28, I went for the quote. Here's my page:
Supplies: Jen Maddocks Designs: Light In The Trees, Autumn Delight Maya de Groot: An Altered Treat Anna Aspnes: ArtPlay Palette Autumnal No1, Cool Glows No1 Rosey Posey: Be Bold Font: SandroAl, Tangie AJF Mock Turtle & Top Secret
I bought a lot of mixed media kits during the sales and thought it was time to play with them! TTFN!
So our li'l pooch created the first disaster today! Hubby went on the massage chair (I got a portable back massager for him last Xmas) and tried to use it for the first time. It didn't work. Then he checked and found that li'l pooch had chewed the wire near the remote... no wonder it didn't work! To say I was upset was an understatement as I use that back massager a lot since I do suffer from back pains frequently. Anyway, he said he would try and fix it.
Well, he did! He somehow managed to soldered the wires and it worked. However, it doesn't look aesthetically nice as before! Oh well, lesson no1 learnt! Never leave wires of appliances around! I thought I was done with baby proofing the house but looks like I need to do it again! TTFN!
Did I say that getting a new pup is equivalent to a new baby! Yup, the li'l pooch woke us at 5ish in the morning! Gosh, never seen hubby woke up so quickly to tend to him! (Never did that when my boys were crying as babies in the night).
Anyway, we are slowly getting to know him and he to us. He does whine a lot but I think he might be homesick for his mom. However, he didn't like the idea of being alone especially when I had to go off for work. Got hubby to come back to check him out.
My boys have been brilliant with him even to the point of cleaning his poo and wee! They did promise to look after him! I'm glad they are keeping to that promise!
Currently we are trying to toilet train him but it's not easy. We have had to put newspaper around and thankfully, he does his poop and wee on them! Ideally we want him to go outside. Let's see how it goes! TTFN!
What started out as a nondescript day turned out to be somewhat spectacular! The morning started out innocently enough, rushing the kids for makeup violin lessons. Hubby picked us up after the lesson and said he was going to bring us to see a dog, a beagle. He's the last in a litter of 6. I looked at him and told him we are not going to get a dog and certainly not today! Just look was his answer! So we did!
And guess what! We came back with him:
Meet Banji, the latest member of our family! He's only 8 weeks old and not old enough for walks yet until he gets his jabs. Yeah, we had to pop into the pet store to get a bed, a travelling kennel and other accessories just to accommodate him! Seriously, we didn't set out to buy a dog but it happened! I had planned to go to the Frankfurt Market in Birmingham town centre as it was a brilliant day but this li'l pooch stole our heart. In fact, we even left the breeder's place to think it over and instead, headed for the pet store and ATM! I guess it was meant to be! The ironical part, moi, the one who insisted on no dog policy ended up begging hubby to get him! Am I mad? Probably but then I grew up with dogs (Dalmatian, Dobermann and Chihuahua - not all at the same time. Also goldfish, hamster & tortoise). I now add a Beagle to the list! TTFN!
A new Get It Scrapped article has come up based on composing 6 photos on a page, as seen here. It can be tricky composing a page with that many photos but here's how I've done it:
Supplies: Anna Aspnes: ArtPlay Palette Bask, Artplay Palette Bicycle, Warm Glows1, Heart LoopDaLoop No2, Foto Word Transfers No1, MultiMedia Flowers No2, Foto Wallet No2, Foto Word Mix No1, 12x12 Sand Scratched Overlays No1, Acrylic Alpha Number Set No1 Julianna Kniepp & Captured Visions: Love Is All You Need Julianna Kniepp: Fall In Love Fonts: Xerography & Tangie AJF Oysters
This is one of my fav photos of my best pals! We had to take a few shots just to get the perfect one! TTFN!
Mirjam has released a new kit today entitled You Got Mail, available at The Lilypad. She has also got a cute alpha set too called Shabby Chic.
This is such a fun kit. Here's what I've done with it:
The images are so cute so I had to do an art journal. Also came up with this LO:
Well, it's true! These days letters are getting obsolete especially when you can send an email in seconds! Wanna chat, try Whatsapp, Touch, Messenger etc. And if you wanna see loved ones, try FaceTime or Skype! TTFN!
Today's challenge is called 'Inkalicious'. Basically use the same stamp to stamp in 3 different shades of ink. Well, I had to find my inkpads and a suitable stamp for this challenge and here's my card:
Snowman image is from Boutique Cute Doll's Soft Winter.
It felt good to stamp again. I so need to organise my craft supplies. They are still scattered around in boxes in my new craft area! TTFN!
Did a shedload of grocery shopping today. Haven't shopped properly for two weeks and the fridge/freezer was bare! First stop at Tesco. Then, we headed to Wing Yip, the Chinese supermart to stock up. They have increased the shop size so it's now quite huge and airy with tons of food stuff too! Found some frozen Durian pancakes, much to my delight!
Did quite a lot of shopping during the Digital Scrapbooking Day sales. My main purchases were from these designers, Tangie Baxter, Rosey Posey, Viva Artistry and Marta van Eck. Mainly altered art kits for my art journals. I tend to look for stuff that I don't have, images that are unique and unusual. Needless to say, I've maxed up my scrapping budget for this month and it's only the 4th!!!
I also did my backups too. I now have 4 backup drives as I've suffered losses before and not gonna take any risks now especially in this age of digital era. Quite a productive weekend albeit not a creative one. TTFN!
