I was given the gorgeous BackPorch Memories Medley kit to play with this month. But here's a look at their June's kits:

Solo

Medley

Stamp set

Here's what I created with the Medley kit:

LO using Basic Grey Lime Rickey papers

LO using Cosmo Cricket Early Bird

LO using Scenic Route Garden Grove

LO done mainly on Bazzill embossed cardstock with bits from BG Lime Rickey and Cosmo Cricket Early Bird papers. Loads of stamps used from Prima and 7 Gypsies.
LO was also created for SLYMI wk 23 whose theme is 'Self Portrait'. The spinner came in handy for this theme!

Finally, a card using the stamp set!

Today's challenge is 'Challenge Combo'. The idea is to ...

Combine three 365 challenges - one from March, one from April, and one from May. The challenges you combine are up to you, as long as there is one from each month.

I had a look at the various challenges in the 3 mentioned months and I chose these:
March Day 27: Touchy Feely Friday
April Day 56: See Through Saturday
May Day 67: Think Pink

Stamped images from Unity.

>>> 365 Cards Day 101 <<<

The challenge is entitled 'Fun With Food: Veggies' where one had to create a card with a veggie (or two or three) on it. Here's my take on it:

The only veggie I've got is mushroom, the above particular one comes from Unity. Patterned papers by LilyBee French Couture collection. Image coloured using Promarkers.

My first DT assignment with a British kit company, Bellaboo. Here's the June kit entitled 'That Summer Feeling':

Feautures new MME papers, Bazzill stitch templates, bag of buttons etc. Kit was lovely and no wonder it sold out quick!

Here's what I came up with:

There was a concertina doll album included and I decided to do a banner instead. It's now proudly displayed in my craft room. Figured it's time to give my craft room a bit of decoration.

>>> 365 Cards Day 99 & 100 <<<

Day 100 is 'Manic Monday' and the challenge is to use 5 bold colours: RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, and BLUE - No pastels!

Well, here's my take on it:

Patterned paper by WRMK Boho Chic collection. Stamped images by Unity, coloured using Promarkers and sprinkled with Sticklers.

Day 99 is 'Super Sketchy Sunday' and here's the sketch and you need to include a dragonfly in it:
Here's my take on it:

I rotated it and used it sideways.
Patterned paper by Cactus Pink . Calendar image by Imaginisce and dragonfly images by Unity.

>>> New Phone! <<<

Upgraded my Motorola v3i phone to this:

Sony Ericsson W595

I still luv my Motorola phone and will keep it as a spare. However, it's time to change phone and I saw the pinkiness in it and that sold me! I guess I'll be spending the nite sorting out ringtones , music tunes and phone numbers! TTFN!

>>> 365 Cards Day 98 <<<

The challenge today is 'It's An Anniversary'. Well, it's Pam's anniversary (Congrats Pam)! It calls for an anniversary card with the colour 'white' as the dominant feature! Here's my take on it:

The requirement calls for simplicity so I added a die-cut journaling sheet in the middle and stamped the sentiment. Added a stamped hot air balloon (image by Unity) and viola, it's done. Inside the card reads 'Happy Anniversary'.

>>> 2 Sketches 4 U <<<

I'm taking part in 2 Sketches 4 You 1st Annual Ultimate Card Showdown. Here's the sketch that is given.

Here's my take on the sketch:

Patterned papers by GCD Studios Canta collection and Jillibean Minestrone collection. Stamped image & sentiment by Unity.

>>> 365 Cards Day 97 <<<

Today's challenge 'Shape Up #2' focus on DIAMONDS! The challenge is to make a diamond the dominant shape on your card (or even the shape of the card itself).

Now that I'm typing this up, I've misread it and instead of making it dominant, use it as part of a decorative feature... hardly prominent. Oh well....what's done is done... teach me to read properly the next time:

Loads of stamps used here... 7 Gypsies Notthinghill, Purple Onion Designs (diamond shapes as borders) and Paperbag Studios (shoes image). Background sponged with Tim Holtz distressed inkpad weather wood, peeled paint and old paper and then spritzed with water.

>>> He's back! <<<

My wee, li'l babe is back from camp! The school texted me to say he was arriving at 2.10pm and thankfully I was in his school (I usually help out on Friday afternoons) and was there to welcome him with open arms. In typical British fashion, it rained! However, I was so glad that his three days there were rain-free and he had complete sunny weather!

He was so proud to show me his cute teddy bear that he had found in the woods. Apparently, the kids went on a bear hunt and found a teddy with their names on it. I literally grilled him about his camp and got him to talk about it. He told me a lot of interesting stuff and how he felt homesick on day 2 and cried but was comforted by his teacher. (There were other kids too who felt homesick on the first nite). Oh and how he held off from pooing as he didn't like to poo in a different place. He got home (Nan's place) and went straight to the toilet and did the most stinkiest poo ever! Poor chap! I think he had fun there and I'm sure the experience taught him a lot. He did a great job packing his own bag and brought everything home.

It's good to have him back! No doubt he will be getting loads of hugs and kisses from us. TTFN!

>>> Day 2: Zac In Action! <<<

Day 2 of Zac in camp! Apparently he has a full schedule and saw him in action on the school blog:

Here he is in blue, pond dipping!

With his fellow campmates!

He seemed happy and that's good. Missing him terribly but I'll be seeing him tomorrow ... can't wait! TTFN!

>>> 365 Cards Day 96 <<<

The challenge is 'Fun With Fabric' and the idea is to incorporate fabric into the card. Any piece of fabric will do, except for fabric ribbon, buttons, or flowers. Of course they can add be added to the card but they won't count as the fabric. Here's my take on it:

Fabric is the oval tag behind the flowers. I actually stamped an oval image but it hasn't shown up well. Anyway, stitched around it and attached to an embossed cardstock. Flower image from Unity and coloured using Tim Holtz distressed inkpad. Sentiment from Unity.

>>> Bye Zac! <<<

My wee li'l babe went off to Bell Heath Residental Study Centre today! Saw him off at school and nope, didn't shed a tear but it did left me feeling a little lonely! He's off for 3 days and 2 nites and will be back on Friday afternoon. Initially, he was rather reluctant to go but after getting him involved in packing and showing him his itinerary, he got used to the idea! I leave with some photos of him...

The wee mite rolling his own bag to the bus!

Just before boarding

This photo (& below) came from the school blog. They set up one to show the kids' activities for the day. There he is in the red t-shirt. They were involved in animal orienteering.

In the field playing games.

Have to say the house is so much quietier without him around. Missing him a lot too! But it's a good experience for him and I know he will enjoy it as he's very much an outdoor person! TTFN!

>>> 365 Cards Day 95 <<<

It's another challenge day at 365 Cards and today is 'Wacky Colour Wednesday'. The colour challenge on offer is BLUE, PINK, and ORANGE. Kinda weird combination but hey, it's a challenge. It didn't take long for me to produce this:

I turned to my trusty Chatterbox papers (of yesteryears). Found a couple of coloured patterned papers that matched. Stamped image & sentiment from Unity stamps.

>>> 365 Cards Day 94 & Mojo Monday 89<<<

Did a card that fulfilled two challenges. Firstly at 365 Cards Day 94, the theme is 'Ad Inspired' and this is the Ad:

The first thing that strike me was the colour so I went for the green and black hues.

Secondly, at Mojo Monday 89, this was the sketch:
A combination of both produced this:

Patterned paper by Scarlet Lime exclusive papers found in Sep 08 kit. I broke the golden rule and used a brand new sheet to do this card (my aim of doing cards is to use up scraps from scrapbooking not vice versa!). However, the paper fit the theme perfectly. The quote and dragonfly came from Unity stamps.

>>> Card Patterns Sketch 17 <<<

This week's Card Patterns focus on this sketch:

Here's my take on it:

Went for an Xmassy themed card as I think I need to make a start on it. Patterned papers by Daisy Bucket Playlist collection and Jillibean Minestrone collection. Stamped image by Paperbag Studios. Sentiment by Purple Onion Designs.

>>> 365 Cards Day 93 <<<

Today's challenge is 'Call Me'. The rules: Use "Call Me" as the sentiment and/or use an image of a phone on your card. You only have to have one or the other, but you can have both.

It just so happened that I do have both, an image of a telephone and the sentiment 'call me'. So here's my take on it:

Patterned paper from Tapestry by CR Gibson Lavender & Lace collection. Mona Lisa image by Lost Coast, 'don't forget me' image by Paper Artsy and phone image by Unity.

>>> That Phonecall! <<<

Eeks! Had a phone call from Emirates informing me that my schedule flight to Singapore has been cancelled! So annoying seeing that I booked way back in January! Anyway, luckily I was able to get get the next day flight. I did ask if there was a later date i.e. the weekend but all flights were full from the Dubai-Singapore sector! Darn. Looks like the boys will still have to miss their violin concert. TTFN!

I was asked to be a guest designer for Ribbon Mad, a company that sells ribbon kit a while back. I was sent a lovely pack of black and white ribbons with a few accessories. Here's what the kit looked like:

After a good play with the ribbons, I came up with these:

A blouse needed a makeover so I made flowers out of the ribbons and sewed them onto the blouse.

Here's a closeup view of it.

As there were still ribbons leftover, I made a hanging frame with them. Quote is from Unity stamps.

A close view of it.

I'm currently working on BackPorch Memories June Medley kit.

Day 92 challenge is 'Super Sketchy Sunday'. Here's the sketch:

Here's my take on it:

Incidentally, today saw me completing the last 2 challenges that I had left hanging... can't believe it's the end of May so soon! Here they are:

Day 70: Ad Inspired Challenge

My take on it.

The inside of the card

Day 69: Glad For The Grad
This challenge left me thoroughly challenged! Can't say I like it but hey, that's all the challenges done for May! Hooray! More details on the above two card can be found here.
